Inge Nieuwoudt

Educational Psychologist

I am Inge, an Educational Psychologist working in the field of learning and development, both in private practice, school and the corporate setting. For just over fifteen years now I have been involved with children and their families, either as a teacher, remedial therapist, counselor, educational psychologist, family, and divorce mediator and recently trainer focusing on mental health wellness in the cooperate setting.

My true passion lies with my first love of teaching. I believe that empowering children, parents, teachers, or any person with knowledge brings about real change. Therefore, I feel that workshops, parent guidance, and psychoeducation are the first step in the right direction – creating a ripple effect toward overall improvement.

When working individually, I work from a multisystemic and solution-focused approach. Engaging with my clients in such a way as to assist and encourage them to draw upon their internal strengths and external resources to bring about change and improvement. During my interventions, I work in a structured manner and mostly use a directed approach. I specifically enjoy working with adolescents to support them during this vulnerable developmental stage they find themselves in.

I believe in the ‘goodness’ of people and that every person can overcome the challenges they face when their assets are correctly utilized.

My life motto is that of Albert Einstein:

“In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunities.”

I have a special interest in the following:

  • Psychotherapy with adolescents
  • Parent guidance
  • Psychotherapy with children 12 years and older
  • Learning difficulties
  • School Readiness
  • Parent and teacher workshops
  • Mental health wellness training
  • Family and Divorce Mediation
  • Emotional Focused Therapy with couples (EFT)
